Hello parents and students. I hope everyone had a nice extended weekend. Welcome back! I look forward to a hard working group of students in term 2.
We are currently just finishing up our units of study in English 9 and 10. We will now be working towards essay and grammar skills over the next 2-3 weeks. It is important that students stay committed to completing work outside of class. I encourage parents to support their child's learning by checking our blog and making sure that they are up to date on their work.
In today's classes we covered the following topics:
English 9
Final Poetry Presentations- last chance for anyone who has not presented
Finished our slam poetry documentary
Tomorrow we will be starting an essay writing unit.
English 10
Ended our CIDN Novel study
Watched our Movie Trailers
Finished reading "All The Troubles of The World"
Tomorrow we will discuss how to integrate quotes into our writing and we will be working towards a compare and contrast essay over the next week. Come prepared to concentrate and work.
